Making well performing kitchenknives is a challenging craft, that requires a lot of skills and knowledge. It takes years to learn, but a good class can give you a big head start on that journey and saves you a lot of frustration along the way.
Jeroen, from KnippenbergKnives has put together knifemaking class in which he share his vast experience trough years of knifemaking.
In two days you will learn how to make your own kitchen knife with corresponding theory and background. The 'why' is just as important as the how.
This class will be tought 1 on 1, so there is plenty of room for personal attention, questions, theory and addapting the class to suit you as a student.

Intended for?
This class is perfect for (beginning) knifemakers, hobby cooks, professional chefs and other knife enthusiast to learn more about kitchen knives and how to make them. No prior experience is needed to take the class.
What can you expect?
In two full days we will go into all the details of making a kitchen knife. The focus is on design and manufacturing of a kitchen knife with great performance, tailored to you as a user. The class is a good combination of theory and practice. But above all, you will be working yourself, you will learn kitchenknife making by doing, and learn why.
During this class, you will be making a full tang monosteel kitchenknife using the stock removal method, no forging. The full focus will be on grinding geometry for great cutting performance, which takes a lot of attention and time to do it right.
Since this is a 1 on 1 course, there is plenty of room to adjust the class to your wishes. If you have any specific wishes, please discuss leading up to the class.
What will you get out of it?
Off course, you will go home with a kitchen knife all made by you. It'll be the most special knife in your collection and a joy to use. Furthermore, you have learned a lot about kitchen knives and design for performance and comfor during use. You have experienced what it takes to make a kitchenknife, learned new skills and correspongin theory. And all this will give you a headstart when making your own knives.

What do you bring:
Make sure you have closed, sturdy shoes, long pants and plenty of warm- non synthetic clothing. No loose shawls, necklaces, no rings etc.

Contact me via the contactform, and list a few dates that would work for you to take the class. After this we schedule the class. The reservation is fixed after payment of the deposit.
